Vintage press photo of a young Harry Whittington. Near Fine, measuring 6.25 X 9.5 inches, with a brief crease and closed tear at the left margin and small penciled number at the lower right hand corner. A few penciled notations to the verso, along with the St. Petersburg Times' stamp and 2 newspaper clippings. Both clippings feature the photo of Whittington, which was used to promote his first book, 'Vengeance Valley.' A February 9, 1948 synopsis states that the book had just been picked up by Ward, Lock & Co. for distribution in England and Australia. Whittington led a prolific career as 'King of the Paperback Novels,' publishing more than 200 in his lifetime. An attractive photo of the young author at the beginning of his career.
