About Us

Captain Ahab's Rare Books was established in Miami, Florida by Amir Naghib in 2010. He moved the business to the Shenandoah Valley in 2012, where he operates from a 4,000 sq. ft. colonial-style home. Amir brings a decade worth of experience managing bookstores for Borders and The Hudson Group to the trade, as well as a Masters in Library Science from the University of South Florida. Captain Ahab's Rare Books pursues fine books in all fields, with a special emphasis in 19th and 20th century literature, poetry, genre fiction, and related manuscripts and association copies. We are proud members of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).
