A compendium of stories centered around Van Allsburg's titular character, who first appeared in his 1984 book The Mysteries of Harris Burdick. In the book, which consists of a series of images by Burdick (who mysteriously disappears), each is accompanied by a title and single line of text, encouraging readers to create their own stories. The contributing authors have done exactly that. It includes Stephen King's science fiction story "The House on Maple Street." A formidable collection of signatures. 8328.
