Debut issue of this wonderful assemblage "magazine," published by Johnny and Giselle Brewton of the Pasadena-based X-Ray Book Co. "Unlike "normal" magazines Bagazine points focus at assemblage, handwork and print making, photography, painting, chapbooks, graphic design, typography, letterpress, Visual Poetry and the unusual. Bagazine explores the assemblage and modern subculture of Bagism and creative Happening" (from the "biography" section of the Bagazine site). This issue contains a 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" broadside printing Bukowski's poem "I Shot the Cat" (which is actually a part of the poem "Panties," collected as part of As Buddha Smiles). The early issues of Bagazine are uncommon in commerce, especially complete. Debritto A196.
