Octavo (19.75cm); dark blue cloth titled in gilt on spine, with black and gilt-stamped decorative bands along the spine and front cover; dark brown endpapers; [viii],[1]-401,[402-404] + 24pp ads. Spine ends gently nudged, scattered foxing to versos of endpapers and to half-title page, else a fresh, very Near Fine copy. The one-volume edition of Washington Square was published seven months after the two-volume UK edition. A well-preserved copy, found infrequently in commerce. Edel & Laurence A15c; see BAL 19552.
