MON VIEUX LUCIEN - ONE OF 50 COPIES, SIGNED

[New York: The Gotham Book Mart], 1973. First Edition. Early broadside by Smith, consisting of her poetic version of Édith Piaf's 1961 song "Mon Vieux Lucien," and an illustration of a woman lying her head down on folded arms. Printed and distributed by The Gotham Book Mart, the total edition was 300 copies, with a small compliment signed in holograph by Smith, the remaining 250 in facsimile only. A particularly attractive example - even the best of the few copies we've seen are succeptible to fading from nlue to gray. Scarce; OCLC notes 7 holdings (NYU, SUNY Buffalo, Mills College, Emory, Northwestern, Brown, Temple). Item #4167

Limited Issue, one of 50 numbered copies signed by Smith, this being copy no.10. Original broadside, with text and illustration (half in type, half reproduced from holograph) printed in black on thick sky blue stock, and bottom deckle-edged. A Fine copy.

Price: $1,800.00
