Comments
Suppressed issue of this popular L.A. weekly - one of the few significant issues of the 92 that were published. Contains Drew Pearson's exposé on Ronald Reagan, who was elected Governor of California in January 1967. The cover bears the scandalous headline "IS RONNIE GAY?" directly above a suggestive photo of a shirtless Reagan next to a horse, captioned "Has Ronnie Been Horsing Around?" The issue also contains Bukowski's "Notes of a Dirty Old Man" column. While it should appear between D78 and D79 (3-9 November and 17-23 November, respectively), this issue not found in Dorbin's bibliography of early Bukowski material, though all other Bukowski appearances in the newspaper are listed.
