Description

First Printing. Near Fine in a Very Good+ dustjacket. Spine ends and upper corners very gently nudged, though the corner tips are still perfectly sharp. The jacket is unclipped, lightly rubbed at the extremities, with some of the typical spine fading endemic to this title. This copy belonged to noted science fiction author Philip José Farmer, inscribed to him in true Willefordian fashion: "To - Philip José Farmer - Keep a good grip on the old sphincter, and all will be well. Yours - Charles Willeford." Though nothing has been written about the relationship between the two authors, one can surmise they met through Dennis McMillan, who published both authors during the 80's. Fame came to Willeford later in his career, though by the time of this inscription, Farmer had already extablished his reputation. This is the second Hoke Moseley novel, and among the scarcest of the author's books to find signed. Though we have seen a number of generic inscriptions by Willeford, this is far and away the best we've seen, and the only literary association we have encountered.
