Comments

Attractive set of Matthiessen's Florida trilogy, telling the story of E.J. Watson. Over the course of nearly ten years he cut out 400 pages of the original manuscripts and re-wrote large portions of the book, giving voices to characters which previously had none, and producing the manuscript of Shadow Country in 2008, significantly textually different, winning the National Book Award for Fiction the same year.
