Two thick octavo volumes (22.5cm); vertically-ribbed red cloth, with titling and decorations stamped in gilt on spines and front covers; top edges gilt; frontispiece, xiv,372; frontispiece, viii,385,[3]pp; illus. Wear to crown on both volumes, with some splitting and a fingernail-sized chip on Vol.1; a few scattered pinpoint rubs to cloth; Vol.2 shows a light vertical impression along spine, some foxing to rear endpaper, with faint pinkish damp mark to right edge of terminal leaves; cloth remains bright, with the gilt unrubbed; Very Good+, lacking the scarce dustjackets.
