First hardcover edition of Hammett's "novel" comprised of two stories ("The Big Knockover" and "$106,000 Blood Money") which first appeared in Black Mask in 1927. The Continental Op hunts down the vicious leader of a gang who robbed a San Francisco bank of several million dollars. An attractive copy of a cheaply-manufactured book, one which nearly always appears in inferior condition. Layman A9.2.b.
