Comments

Attractive copy of this early 20th century directory of Greenwich Village Bohemia. Produced by Egmont Arens, who began his fine press printing and publishing career after purchasing the Washington Square Book Shop from Frank Shay in 1918. Two editions of the handbook were published in 1918, a third in 1919, and the fourth in 1922 - all are uncommon. This edition contains a short poem by John Reed on the copyright page, a song titled "The Village Epic" by Bobby Edwards, with a directory, who's who, important dates and events, and a centerfold map of the Village. OCLC notes 10 holdings for 1918 editions.
