Comments

Sharp copy of this collection of four plays (Phaedra, Hermaios, Iphigenia, and Berenike), issued as No.20 in The Direction Series. Warmly inscribed to Jonathan Williams (1929-2008), who first wrote to Rexroth as a dropout from Princeton, looking for advice about avoiding the draft. Within two years he made his way to Black Mountain, where he founded the Jargon Society, which would publish Rexroth's One Hundred Poems from the French in 1955.
