Carl Weissner (1940-2012) was German author, publisher, translator, and counterculture figure, noted for his translations of William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Andy Warhol, J.G. Ballard, Harold Norse, and others. He enjoyed a long-time friendship with Bukowski, acting as his major translator in Germany, and helping to cement his literary legacy in his native country.
