Comments

Biggers's second Charlie Chan novel, in which a string of pearls holds the key to the death of a mysterious millionaire. Chan travels from Hawaii to California and goes undercover in the desert to find the answer to a clue spoken in Chinese - by the parrot. Basis for the 1927 film of the same name, and a 1934 adaptaion titled Charlie Chan's Courage - both considered lost films. Scarce in dustjacket. Hubin, p.33.
