Octavo (22.75cm); illustrated wrappers; 97,[1]pp; illus. Inscribed by the author to Tillie Olsen on the title page: "For Tillie - with great respect and admiration. Merril Greene." Light wear to extremities, a few small stains to wrappers and margins, with a ca.1" split at base of spine; still Very Good and sound.

Written by art historian Merrill Greene, who discusses the work of Wallace Berman, Joan Brown, Bruce Conner, Jay De Feo, George Herms, Jess, Robert Lavigne, Fred Martin, Arthur Monroe, and Keith Sanzenbach. Illustrated throughout, with a poem contributed by Michael McClure. Inscribed to author Tillie Olsen, during the period when her husband Jack worked at Mount Holyoke.
