Comments

The first of Hemingway's books published in French, collecting the title story and five others: "Mon vieux," " L'Invincible," "Le Champion," "Le village indien," and "Les Tueurs." A distinguished copy, inscribed by the translator to Louis Daniel Hirsch, author and Director of Sales at Gallimard between 1922-1974. Likely the first Hemingway book translated into any language, and a title with no English-language equivalent. Hanneman D69.
