Comments

Williams's first published play, a highspot of 20th-century drama, and basis for several film and T.V. adaptations. This edition includes production notes for the 1945 stage version, and an introductory essay by Williams titled "The Catastrophe of Success." Issued as No.23 in "The New Classics" series by New Directions, uncommon in this condition.
