Octavo (19.25cm); black cloth, with gold title labels printed in black applied to spine and front cover; dustjacket; xv, 212, [2]pp. Mild offset to endpapers, pinpoint rubbing to corners of spine label, with faint foxing to upper edge of textblock; very Near Fine. Dustjacket is price-clipped, gently spine-sunned and lightly edgeworn, with a few tiny nicks and tears, and two very faint stains to rear panel; an attractive, Very Good+ example.

Comments

The author's second book and first collection of short fiction. This edition bears an introduction by Edmund Wilson and a 4-page introduction by the author not present in the previous editions. Hemingway also revised the text of "A Very Short Story," changing the setting from Milan to Padua and the girl's name from Ag to Luz. Hanneman A3b.
