Octavo (19.25cm); black cloth, with gold title labels printed in black applied to spine and front cover; dustjacket; xv, 212, [2]pp. Mild offset to endpapers, pinpoint rubbing to corners of spine label, with faint foxing to upper edge of textblock; very Near Fine. Dustjacket is price-clipped, gently spine-sunned and lightly edgeworn, with a few tiny nicks and tears, and two very faint stains to rear panel; an attractive, Very Good+ example.


The author's second book and first collection of short fiction. This edition bears an introduction by Edmund Wilson and a 4-page introduction by the author not present in the previous editions.
