Original draft typescript by Willeford, who wrote the introduction to Brown's collection of short fiction (and an unfinished novel). Brown's early work was a clear influence on Willeford's own writing, and Willeford considered himself one of the author's biggest fans, ranking his work in the same category as that of Max Brand, Jim Thompson, Raoul Whitfield, and Cornell Woolrich.
