Dustjacket is unclipped (priced 9s. 6d. net), with a hint of dustiness to rear panel, and a faint, diagonal crease at lower left corner of rear flap; without wear, tears, or fading to the spine - about Fine.

Comments

The author's second novel, set in the Algerian city of Oran, which has been swept by a plague. The novel presents a number of questions regarding the nature of destiny and the human condition. The characters in the book, ranging from doctors to vacationers to fugitives, all help to show the effects the plague has on the populace. Basis for the 1992 film directed by Luis Puenzo, starring William Hurt, Robert Duvall, and Raul Julia.
