Brief rejection letter from d.a. levy to Dante Thomas, pseudonym of Dante Thomas Zaccagnini, distinguished Professor of English at SUNY Genesco from 1966 through the early 1990's. Thomas had submitted poems for inclusion in a late (unnamed) levy publication, to which levy responded: "nice poems, but sorry - im all filled up for now - try QUIXOTE...since you did not enclose a return envelope im not even sure if you wanted this back - postage due because i cant afford it." levy was no stranger to rejection (Kent State has an entire file with rejection letter he received), and given the tone of the letter, his circumstances were clearly dire. Mailing envelope postmarked October 16, 1968; levy would take his own life little more than a month after this was mailed. Rare.
