Comments

Portis' first book, a comic novel about an ex-Marine who travels north to New York to deliver a car for a friend, and the crazy things he picks up on the way back (a wife, the second shortest midget in showbusiness, and a chicken who does tricks). Basis for the 1970 film starring Glen Campbell, Kim Darby and Joe Namath.
