The unclipped dustjacket is the earliest state, with a full set of unbattered lips on the woman's face. Some very shallow chipping at the base of the spine and cornertips, with a small triangular chip at the upper right corner of the spine (not affecting title) and two areas of archival reinforcement along the front spine fold on verso; a presentable, Very Good example. Faint rubber hand-stamped date of MAR 1, 1926 just above the publisher's name at the base of the spine, possibly indicating a copy sent out for review (the book was formally published on February 26, 1926).

Comments

A well-received collection of stories issued after Gatsby's release, with a modest first printing of 10,100 copies. Bruccoli A13.I.a.
