Buenos Aires: Editorial Losada, 1952. Second Edition. Item #825
A Near Fine copy in illustrated self-wrappers. Spine panel imperceptibly toned, with a single stray ink mark on the front panel and some light wear along the edges. The text is remarkably clean and without foxing. A key collection of stories by Borges, including the title story - a literary and metaphysical masterpiece. While the First Edition was published three years earlier, the Second is equally scarce (or indeed scarcer, by the numbers) and in many ways more desirable. Four stories appear in this edition which were not included in the First, along with a brief afterword, and new cover art which (in our humble opinion) is considerably more attractive. A collectors copy of a cornerstone Borges title.
