New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964. First Edition. New. Item #72
First Printing. A Fine book in a Near Fine, unclipped jacket, with the original price of $4.95 intact. The book is lovely, bound in blue-green cloth with crimson and gold stamped on the spine panel, illustration of a woman shoveling stamped on the front panel, and a bright, mustard-colored topstain. The jacket is a bright, clean example, with three tiny rubbed areas on the spine and one on the rear hinge to note. Along the top rear edge, there is a short closed tear and some faint attendant creasing. Basis for the terrific 1964 Hiroshi Teshigahara film, part of a recently released collection of his work by Criterion. A very attractive copy in a jacket that normally shows wear very heavily.
