NOMAD 5/6 (WINTER-SPRING, 1960)

London: Villiers Publications Ltd., 1960. First Edition. Item #7132

Octavo (23cm); original pictorial card wrappers, stapled; [3],4-64pp. Light wear, subtle toning, and a single tiny tear to wrapper extremities; contents clean, but for a brief pencil note in French at upper margin of inner rear wrapper; Very Good+. Early double issue of this little magazine, published in London and Culver City, CA between 1959-1962. Factor and Linick, studying at UCLA and USC, were both drawn to poetry readings throughout L.A.; at the time, Coastlines was the only significant little magazine in the city, so the pair set out to publish their own, chiefly featuring west coast poets. Contents include three poems by Charles Bukowski ("So much for the knifers, so much for the bellowing dawns," "Manifesto: A Call For Our Own," and "The Day it Rained at the Los Angeles County Museum"), with contributions by Robert Creeley, Joel Oppenheimer, Carl Larsen, Gregory Corso, Russell Edson, Paul Blackburn, Louis Zukofsky, and others. Dorbin C50-51.
