San Francisco: The Communication Company, 1967. First Edition. A collection of 34 poems, some of which first appeared in the pages of Beatitude, J, Totem, O'er, and Hollow Orange; five of them were first published as broadsides by The Communication Company, who gave out both the broadsides and this chapbook for free on the streets of San Francisco. Provenance: From the collection of Montana author, screenwriter, and outdoorsman William Hjortsberg (1941-2017), a central figure in the Montana Gang, and Brautigan's long-time friend and neighbor in Pine Creek. He spent two decades researching and writing Jubilee Hitchhiker: The Life and Times of Richard Brautigan, published in 2012 to great acclaim. Barber 22. Item #5115
