A compelling association copy inscribed to Hjortsberg, who like Keeler, was friends with Richard Brautigan. Both men attempted to resurrect Brautigan's legacy after his death by writing a biography, though Keeler's (Waltzing with the Captain: Remembering Richard Brautigan, 2004), preceded Hjortsberg's mammoth Jubilee Hitchhiker by eight years.
