"Spanish Blood," "The King in Yellow," "Pearls Are A Nuisance," "Nevada Gas," and "Trouble Is My Business" first appeared in the pages of Black Mask and Dime Detective magazine between 1935-1939. Octavo (cm); black cloth, blocked and titled in red on spine and front cover; red topstain; dustjacket; [8],9-221,[3]pp. Light wear to crown, some faint, whitish rubbing along the joints, else a fresh, Near Fine copy, with the topstain bright and even, and much less tanning to the text than usual. Dustjacket shows light rubbing to extremities, else very Near Fine.
