Baltimore: Globe Poster Printing Corp. 1996. Concert poster for what would surely have been an epic event (had it ever taken place) at the Miami Arena on Saturday, August 24, 1996. The scheduled event, billed as the "3 Back From Hell Tour," was supposed to feature Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and local hip-hop legend Luther Campbell (of 2 Live Crew fame), with supporting acts Crucial Conflict, Tha Dogg Pound, and the Jacksonville-based Quad City DJ's. The headliners were hip-hop royalty, particularly Tupac, who in 1996 was at the height of his fame, having earlier that year released All Eyez on Me, the first hip-hop double album, which went 5x Multi-Platinum withing a few months of being released. Due to scheduling reasons, the concert never took place, and Tupac was shot in Las Vegas a few weeks after it was scheduled. A beautiful example of hip-hop poster printing by the Baltimore-based Globe Poster Printing Corp., who printed a promotional poster for a who's-who of musicians since 1929 on their Heidelberg Windmill letterpress.
