Paris: Denoël, 1957. First French Edition. Item #443
First Printing. Near Fine in illustrated wrappers, a lovely copy of the French crime fiction duo's sixth book. Light rubbing along the hinges, a few glue ridges along the spine panel, and a some light browning to the text edges. This is a French Review Copy, with the requisite "PRESSE" punch at the upper left corner of the rear panel. A superb association copy inscribed to author Alexandre Vialatte on the front free endpaper: "à Alexandre Vialatte - en toute sympathie - Boileau-Narcejac." No date present, though the copy was likely signed after Boileau's death in 1989. Until Narcejac's death in 1998, he would sign books as "Boileau-Narcejac," in honor of his long-time friend and co-author. Basis for the 1960 suspense film "Double Deception," directed by Serge Friedman and starring Jacques Riberolles, and twins Alice and Ellen Kessler. Scarce in any condition, let alone inscribed, with a nice association between the two French authors.
