BETTING ON THE MUSE: POEMS & STORIES - ONE OF 5 PRESENTATION COPIES, SIGNED

Santa Rosa: Black Sparrow Press, 1996. First Edition. Substantial volume of poems and stories, the first released by Black Sparrow following Bukowski's death in 1994. A brilliant copy, and among the tiniest limitations of any book produced by the Black Sparrow Press. Unlike the deluxe (lettered) issue, these were never sold, but given away gratis to friends of the author and publisher. A late title, but a stopper; we've seen one one other copy for sale in the last 12 years (copy no.4). Krumhansl 150e. Item #4429

Presentation Issue, one of 5 copies specially bound and signed by the author on a tipped-in leaf, this being copy no.2. Octavo (23.5cm); photo-illustrated paper-covered boards and floral-patterned cloth backstrip, with title label mounted to spine; publisher's original acetate dustjacket; [12],13-402,[6]pp. Fine in a lightly rubbed, Near Fine dustjacket.

Price: $1,250.00
