Octavo (23.5cm); contemporary tan calf, spine in six compartments, with five raised bands, and titling and decorative elements stamped in gilt on spine; marbled endpapers; top edge gilt; [ii],ix-xii,-296pp, with all five aquatint plates and the folding map of the Arkansas River (lacks dedication leaf, and preface pp.v-viii). Modest wear to extremities, with some board exposure to corners; rebacked, with original spine laid down; faint foxing to text edges, with a touch of dustiness to margins of a few preliminary and terminal leaves; faint moisture spot to right margin of title page, with rough erasure to lower margin of same; Very Good, sound copy.
