#1 - FAX POEM. Charles Bukowski.

[San Pedro, CA]: S.i., 1994. First Edition. The last poem written by Bukowski, typed and faxed by him to his publisher on February 18, 1994, just 18 days prior to his death from leukemia. Martin made a small number of copies, numbered and initialed them, reportedly distributing these among friends of the Black Sparrow Press. To date, it has not been otherwise published or collected in book form. We've been able to trace five copies: no.2 (Al Berlinski, sold at PBA in 2016), no.3 (the collection of Michael Montfort, sold ca.2002), no.5 (unsold, PBA, 2016), and no.9 (private collection). OCLC notes a single holding (Northwestern, copy no.4). Scarce. Item #3916

One of 10 copies, numbered and initialed by publisher John Martin at lower left corner, this being copy no.10. Single xeroxed sheet (recto only), measuring 8.5" x 11". Faint paperclip impression to upper margin, else Near Fine.

Price: $1,250.00
