A compelling art object and collaborative work produced by Nike and Brazilian graffiti artists Os Gemeos, a celebration of Brazilian sports culture and football (soccer) in particular. A limited number of these packages were distributed for free by Nike in a variety of countries, in celebration of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. One of 2006 packages produced, this being no.902. Square quarto (25.75cm); photo-illustrated boards; 120pp; illus; with 'The Soul of Brazilian Football' DVD and Gilles Peterson CD compilation attached to recessed compartments inside the rear cover. Together with Joga Bola, a 10" gold / white vinyl record in both the plain paper and illustrated outer sleeves. Housed in a 10" X 10" X 10.5" box designed by Brazilian graffiti artists Os Gemeos, modeled after one of their gigantic gallery structures, and containing a specially-produced Nike soccer ball bearing the Confederação Brasileira de Desportos logo. Lower left corner of rear board gently tapped (though still sharp), DVD with light surface wear, else very Near Fine. Record is Fine, giving every appearance of being unplayed. Soccer ball appears unplayed. Packaging shows light surface wear overall, sunning to front side, with a few scuffs, two tears, and two spots on inner seams reinforced with clear tape; Very Good.
