N.p. S.i., [1988]. Printed quote from Edgar Ulmer's cornerstone film noir, based on Martin M. Goldsmith's 1939 novel. The protagonist, a pianist named Al Roberts (played superbly by Tom Neal), upon receiving a tip from a patron for playing a complex piece, states: "Remember, a dollar is just a piece of paper crawling with germs." An interesting piece of ephemera related to the film, bearing the scarce (late) signature of Goldsmith, who died in 1994. Item #2047
