London: The Bodley Head, 1928. Very Good +. Item #162
A reprint of the "Popular Edition," originally published in 1926. Very Good+ in bright orange boards, stamped in black on the front and spine panels. Gentle bumping to the spine ends, some light soiling to the rear and spine panels, and one shallow bump at the bottom of the front board. Very small ownership label at the top left of the front pastedown. An attractive and uncommon edition of one of Christie's most popular detective novels. At the time of publication, reviews were mixed, since she dispensed with her character Hercule Poirot. However, the book remains one of her most popular and sought after titles. Basis for a 1989 TV movie directed by Alan Grint.
