Chicago: Fictioneers, Inc., 1942. Item #1362
Quarto; illustrated pulp wrappers, with cover art by Rafael DeSoto; 130pp. Hint of tanning to text edges, though pages are still creamy and supple; short tears to overhang, with a touch of rubbing to extremities; a bright, Near Fine example that's rich in color. Though a bit late, one of the most iconic covers for Black Mask illustrated by Rafael De Soto, recently used for the cover of Black Lizard's Black Mask anthology. Contains stories by W.T. Ballard, John Lawrence, William Brandon, et al. A superior copy of this issue, with a cover that epitomizes the magazine's ethos.
