Handsome copy of Disney's memoir, as told to his daughter and journalist Pete Martin, dealing not only with his Hollywood career, "but also with his personal life and the background on which his success was based: the grinding poverty of his youth, the gradual evolution of his artistic talent, the devastating experience of early bankruptcy in his first venture into the cartoon field in Kansas City when he was 19" (from rear flap). Copies signed in this manner by Disney were briefly available for purchase at Disneyland to promote the release of the book. Item #4371

Octavo (cm); terrazzo-patterned paper-covered boards and light blue cloth backstrip, with titles stamped in black and white on spine; dustjacket; [vi],247,[3], with an additional 16pp of black and white illustrations. Boldly inscribed "Best wishes / Walt Disney" in green ball-point pen across lower half-title page. Spine ends gently nudged, small, faint stain to lower edge of textblock, with a hint of sunning to upper board edges and spine cloth; contents clean; Near Fine. Dustjacket is price-clipped, lightly shelfworn, with a faint damp-mark along spine panel (noticeable chiefly on verso), a few tears with attendant creases, and a scuff with tiny puncture at upper spine panel; Very Good or better.
